Prototype Services The Data Warehouse Prototype is the delivery of a mini data warehouse conducted by The DataTech Group consultants in conjunction with the client. This delivery is a narrowly defined implementation, typically identifying a single subject area or data set with carefully selected queries to display proposed Data Warehouse capabilities. The targeted code, anticipated benefits, measurable success criteria, and obligations following successful prototype completion are identified up-front. Feasibility Services The Data Warehouse Feasibility Service determines which organizations, applications, systems, information, and processes have the highest immediate data warehousing feasibility. The Data Warehouse Feasibility Development does not analyze business value or potential return-on-investment and, therefore, does not directly support the creation of a business case. When the results of the Data Warehouse Feasibility Service and Information Discovery Service are combined, the client Project Sponsor knows what subject areas are both feasible and valuable. Data Warehouse Feasibility Service is the starting point for The DataTech Group's Data Warehouse Solutions Methodology since it sets the path for all resulting data warehousing activities. Information Discovery Services Information Discovery service focuses on revealing practical, information-based solutions to the questions an organization is facing. This service provides an organized, proactive, and interactive forum for prioritizing business strategies and objectives and developing insights into meeting those objectives. The emphasis is on business issues rather than technology and the objective of the Information Discovery is to gain consensus on key business issues. The output is a prioritization of business questions, quantifiable benefits to having these answered, and an analysis showing the positive impact on the business profitability. More importantly, there will be an understanding of the value of resolving those challenges through improved data information and management tactics. |
